Newspaper Association of America Selects OMNI Solutions Group for Online Contest Software

Gaithersburg, MD – April 8, 2003 – OMNI Solutions Group (OMNI SG) has recently contracted with the Newspaper Association of America (NAA) to design and host an online solution for managing the NAA’s awards competitions for the next five years.

The NAA sponsors a variety of contests that spotlight the best and the brightest programs, projects, and people in the newspaper industry including the ATHENA ® Awards, ACME Awards, and EDGIE Awards.

“Using a customized version of OMNI SG’s omniContests.com product, we now will be able to offer online submission of entries, processing of payments, judging and awarding winners for all three contests,” said Mort Goldstrom, NAA vice president of advertising.

OMNI SG’s web-based solution lets entrants complete their entry form, pay their entry fees, and upload their creative work digitally online.  Association staff can then view, manage, and support the status of each entry in real-time.  And finally, designated contest judges can review the entries online and select the winners.

The omniContests.com solution will enable the NAA to implement contests that attract a higher number of entrants/entries, are less taxing on association staff, provide management with improved data and reporting capabilities, and help generate significant non-dues revenue.  The opportunity to attain these benefits and reduce mailing and printing costs was a significant factor in NAA’s decision to go with omniContests.com, according to Pat Seery, OMNI SG’s Executive Vice President.

omniContests.com is the central component in a series of contest management services available from OMNI SG.  In addition to this online contest software, the company can also provide the production and distribution of call for entries and press releases, entry processing, independent oversight of the judging process and winner selection, online gala registration, and complete awards gala production.  Online winner galleries are also available to OMNI SG clients.
